Der GIPS-Tag wird gemeinsam vom BVI, der DVFA und der German CFA Society durchgeführt. Mit der Initiative GIPS 2010 sollen die Global Investment Performance Standards GIPS einer grundlegenden Überarbeitung unterzogen werden. Der GIPS-Tag bietet den Teilnehmern die Möglichkeit, sich über die neuesten Entwicklungen zu informieren und diese mit qualifizierten Experten zu diskutieren.
2009 Activity report:
The cooperation of the three federations BVI, DVFA and GCFAS under the name GAMSC - German Asset Management Standard Committee was continued and intensified also in 2009. In regular board meetings common activities in connection with Global Investment Performance Standards GIPS were planned and realized. The working committee from eleven Professionals within the range asset management and performance measuring, initiated by GAMSC, met regularly. Three working groups are active covering the topics assets under management, leverage and derivatives, a further working group for the implementation of GIPS 2010 was founded. Representatives of the GAMSC regularly participated at the international meeting of GIPS Committee.
In January the 3rd GIPS day took place in Frankfurt. Experts from the asset management industry contributed with practice reports about the status of GIPS in Germany as well as operational implementation issues to an interesting program. With more than 50 participants the meeting was established by now as a market standard for GIPS topics in Germany.
A milestone 2009 was in February the publication of the official German translation of the GIPS standards. The official translation compiled by GAMSC was approved by the GIPS Executive Committee in December 2008. In June 2009 GAMSC delivered an extensive statement regarding the Public Comment draft of GIPS 2010. In November the RIPS EMEA meeting was organized by GAMSC in Frankfurt. Participants were more than 40 representatives of the local GIPS Country sponsors from the region Europe/Middle East. The highlight of the discussions was the forthcoming publication of the GIPS 2010 standards.
